We all hate uncertainly. That dark cloud that sits around injecting ‘what ifs’ into our brains. However while none of us like it, there are some who can lean into it and somewhat embrace it. They seem to have an unwavering belief that they along with their teams and business will emerge from this current challenge stronger, more resilient and more innovative as a result.
In essence, they believe they’ll thrive. And what’s more powerful than the human resolve?
Plan for a future that inspires
Some of you may be struggling to even see a few days ahead with your current situation, but being a leader demands that we create a clear path forward and embrace the long view. I was reminded of this the other day when a report out of Deloitte Canada said, “Even in moments of disarray, effective leaders never lose sight of opportunities that lie on the next horizon.”
Planning for the next opportunity won’t just give you a sense of resolve, hope and encouragement but it will do the same for your team.
No matter where you’re at with adapting to the current climate, you can emerge from this with a thriving business. However, it’s important to manage your cash flow and risk elements and invest in technology that will enhance your remote working capabilities right now.
Technology to see you through
Working remotely is the new black. In the last month at Spoke Phone we not only saw businesses implement new ways of working remotely but many are now set up with a far better phone system than they were pre-Covid-19. Perhaps this virus is the push towards digital transformation that many businesses needed?
Run Creative, a Communications Design Agency based in Melbourne implemented the Spoke Phone system a few weeks back and it’s already proving invaluable. Their Creative Director says that the system has been so easy to implement and the customer service so impressive, that they’ll be using the system instead of their traditional phone carrier even after Covid-19.
“We have not missed one job, contact or deadline. It’s helped us feel like an integrated team when we were suddenly working remotely after all being in the same office space. It’s been very comforting and reassuring.”
She added that it wasn’t just the security of feeling connected again that her team loved, but all the smaller features.
“We can have working hours activated, individual phone messages and I can see when people are available to take a call. My favourite feature is the call transfer with the hold and chat function where I can chat to someone and give them some context before transferring a call to them.”
“Spoke Phone also reassured us that we could control incoming calls immediately and communicate with each other during conference dial ins,” she said.
Run Creative were quick to comment on how impressive the customer service was too.
“One of the Spoke representatives called us and quickly set us up on the spot – this led to many of our clients asking how we changed it so fast and they’re now looking into it themselves!”.
“I wish Spoke had been around when I set the business up 12 years ago – I would not have hesitated to integrate it from the start. From here on out, we will continue to use Spoke Phone instead of traditional services for the future”
We couldn’t be happier to see Run Creative succeeding at this time with technology that’s setting them and their clients up for success both now and in the future.
Thriving isn’t out of reach
We were all thrown into the Covid-19 crisis in a harrowingly short amount of time. We had no choice but to adapt to the ‘new normal’ even if we were dragged kicking and screaming. By now you’ve probably found ways to work in the the current status quo, however it’s time to take a moment to think ahead as to how your business could thrive in the future.
Perhaps take some inspiration from this quote by Joanna Gaines: “I always thought that the “thriving” would come when everything was perfect, and what I learned is that it’s actually down in the mess that things get good.”
